2013 Committee Participation

Affiliates Commitee:Affiliates and REALTORS® make up this committee. They meet monthly and are unlimited in number. Their Statement of Purpose is "To facilitate professional relationships and communication between the Strafford County REALTORS and Affiliates, promoting the positive image of the Real Estate industry through community service, education, and active participation in the broader mission of the Strafford County Board of REALTORS® ." Bylaws Commitee:Reviews the Board bylaws and Rules and Regulations with those suggested by the National Association of REALTORS® and the New Hampshire Association of REALTORS® . This committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding any changes, as they may become necessary. The President appoints the chairperson with acceptance by the Board of Directors. Community Service Commitee:Maintains and enhances the REALTOR® image and awareness of the REALTOR® organization through community projects. They meet monthly to plan and orchestrate suggested functions to raise funds for a community project of Board purpose. The President appoints the chairperson with acceptance by the Board of Directors and this committee has at least 8 REALTOR® and Affiliate members. The Community Service Chair is a voting member of the Board of Directors. MEMBERS 2013
Education Commitee:This committee meets monthly and is made up of at least 8 REALTOR® and Affiliate Members. They provide ongoing educational opportunities to our members. Their goal is to motivate the membership toward increased and continuing education, to plan programs for the year, focusing primarily on the monthly membership meetings, keeping in mind that the purpose of the meetings is to broaden REALTORS® ' participation and knowledge. The President appoints the chairperson with acceptance by the Board of Directors. The Education Chair is a voting member of the Board of Directors. MEMBERS 2013
Finance Commitee:This committee is chaired by the Treasurer and consists of the President, Vice President, immediate Past President, Executive Officer and at least one other member. This committee meets in late spring and summer to review the status of the current year’s budget and to formulate a budget, along with projected membership statistics, for the next year and make recommendations to the Board of Directors for expenditures. 2013 Finance Committee Chair: Kathy King, Kathy King Realty
Legislative Commitee:Keeps abreast of current legislation or bills that affect REALTORS® in order to inform and alert members about such legislation. This committee organizes and promotes a Congressional and Legislative Contact Network, made up of local members who would become direct contacts with their legislators for the purpose of giving them REALTOR® views on important legislation. When a "Call to Action" is announced by NHAR or NAR, the Team would immediately begin their work. Shall report at monthly meetings, on legislative updates, pending issues, and Calls to Action, as needed.
RPAC Task Force:The REALTOR® Political Action Committee promotes participation in REALTOR® PACs and solicits and collects contributions from the membership. The Chairperson is appointed annually by the President and is made up of up to 3 REALTOR® and Affiliate members. This committee provides appropriate recognition to supporters. The President appoints the Legislative/RPAC chairperson with acceptance by the Board of Directors. 2013 RPAC Chair: Bill Cormier, Hourihane, Cormier & Associates
Grievance Commitee:Reviews disputes between REALTOR® members or with the public, and refers cases, when appropriate, to the Professional Standards Committee. All information received is strictly confidential. They may provide assistance to members of the public in formulating a complaint. This committee is limited to 7 to 10 members appointed by the President who must be familiar with the Code of Ethics and the Board’s bylaws. Members are required to take a pre-approved course every two years. (Minimum 2 years as a REALTOR® .) MEMBERS
Communications Commitee:Promotes the REALTOR® image and activities to the general public by news releases of meetings, awards, REALTOR® of the Year, Scholarships, etc. Made up of 2 to 4 REALTOR® Members. Strategic Planning Commitee:Establishes goals and objectives of the Strafford County Board of REALTORS® . The Vice President is the chairperson. Professional Standards:
Conducts hearings on all grievances directed to them by the Grievance Committee. All information received is strictly confidential. The President appoints the chairperson with acceptance by the Board of Directors. The members must be familiar with the Code of Ethics and the Board’s bylaws. Members are required to take a pre-approved course every two years. (Minimum 2 years as a REALTOR® ) MEMBERS
